VTRIVSQUE | CASTELLAE, Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1635)It is not clear who published this map of Castilla: Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638) or his neighbour Johannes Janssonius (1588-1664). Both printers copied each others work in the thirties of the 17th century, so much so that it was difficult to distinguish the copy from the original. In his atlas Dirck van der Hagen used both material from Blaeu and Janssonius. The image on the map is probable based on work by Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598).
