THVRINGIA | LANDGRAVIATVS, William Jansz Blaeu (1635)This map of Thüringen was published by Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638) in 1635. Blaeu used a map originally produced by the German cartographer Adolarius Erich Andersleden. It is possible that Blaeu acquired this map through the diplomat Joachim de Wicquefort (1596-c. 1665), who represented several German Electorates from 1632 onwards. Blaeu dedicated the map to him.
