Marche du Roy accompagné des ses gardes passant sur le pont neuf et allant au Palais = Iter Regis ad Palatium proficiscentis et pntem nouum cum comitatu transeuntis, Frans van der Meulen (Late 17th century)This print shows Louis XIV of France surrounded by his staff ready to cross the Pont-Neuf. The southern facade of the Louvre, designed by architect Louis le Vau (1612-1670) in the background to the right, has just been finished. Johannes van Huchtenburch (1647-1690) engraved this print after a drawing by Frans van der Meulen (1632-1690).
